Suburban Sounds Schools - managed & delivered by Alternative Entertainments and CONTACT Studio

Suburban Sounds Schools is an exciting 12 week, performance music programme aimed at post-primary students across the South Dublin County region.

It introduces young musicians to the world of song-writing, recording and performing.  It aims to empower and link young people in the community using a creative platform for self-expression.  Sub Sounds is an out of school music education programme that is funded by Music Generation South Dublin. It is managed and delivered in a partnership between Alternative Entertainments and CONTACT Studio.

CONTACT Studio is a South Dublin County Arts Office initiative. 

Choral Programme

Our post-primary choral programme focuses on developing the vocal technique and musicality of young people between the ages of 12 - 18 years by exploring various genres of music from classical to popular repertoire. Students are educated on the best practice for vocal ensemble participation and part-singing in a supportive learning environment. 

Instrumental Programme

Our instrumental programme offers students a chance to develop their skills on guitar, piano or percussion in a small group setting. We have a vast and highly specialised panel of musicians working with us across a variety of genres including jazz, classical, traditional, rock. We would be delighted to discuss which genre or style would best suit your school or alternative instruments you would be interested in developing in your school.
