Music Generation South Dublin aims to provide an extension of learning for children outside of their weekly one-to-one/small group lesson by offering the opportunity to be part of a larger, county-wide ensemble. We hope to cater for a variety of instruments and genres. See further information about our county ensemble and groups below.
County Vocal Ensemble - Vivo Voices
Vivo Voices is Music Generation South Dublin's vocal project for young people 12 - 18 years in South Dublin. Further info about Vivo Voices and how to get involved here.
If you have a vocal group in your school/community and would like to be part of the County Vocal Ensemble please contact the MGSD Development Manager here.
County Strings Ensemble
Music Generation South Dublin has a number of primary violin/strings programmes throughout the county. The County Strings Ensemble will be a means to connect these programmes and let children on exisiting string programmes feed into the County Strings Ensemble. It will also be a means to keep the child developing their instrument as they move into secondary school.
County Traditional Ensemble
MGSD aims to provide a performance platform for trad students of an intermidiate to advanced level from across the county. Under the direction of musician James Mahon the ensemble will explore core traditional Irish music with other ethnic and cultural arrangements thrown in along the way. James will be assisted by Aoife Desmond and Mary Ryan. Contact the MGSD office for further information.
